ORTHODONTICS

Many dental procedures that are done by your dentist, oral surgeon and orthodontist such as having traditional braces installed, are done over a long period of time. But lots of people today are looking for a quick fix to get their teeth looking as great as they can in the shortest amount of time. That’s why more people are turning to instant braces or instant orthodontics.

Instant braces can come in a variety of forms like bonding, veneers or crowns. The idea is that your teeth are fixed in a couple of visits (one or two) versus treatments taking place over longer periods of time. With instant braces, the end result of what your teeth will look like is virtually the same as if you were to have traditional braces placed.

One of the more popular and quickest fixes in the world of instant braces treatment is to have bonding done. Bonding is a natural looking material that the dentist applies to cracked, chipped, gapped or misshapen teeth. With the bonding material, the dentist can literally re-sculpt the teeth and give them the shape and look that is desired, often in one visit.

Crowns are another way in which the dentist can utilize the instant braces technique. With crowns, the dentist is able to restore the natural look and functionality of a natural tooth by capping it with a crown. The dentist does this by shaping the natural tooth to the shape of a peg, while also removing decay through the process. The crown, often made of porcelain or other natural looking material, is simply placed on top of and bonded to the natural tooth, restoring its appearance and functionality in one or two visits.

Probably the most popular form of instant braces today comes in the form of veneers. Veneers are very thin, wafer like shells that are literally attached to the front of the tooth. Instead of realigning teeth over a period of time, the dentist can apply one, two or more veneers to completely change the look of someone’s smile. The dentist can install a set of veneers in as little as one or two visits achieving overwhelming results. Veneers are becoming more and more popular because of the amazing results they can produce in such a short period of time.

These different types of instant braces are all designed to cosmetically enhance a person smile. The cost of each is generally the biggest factor in determining which one someone should choose to have.
